In response to our action alert concerning HJR1009, Senator David Holt is saying that we don't know what goes on if it isn't a vote or public debate and that we are just trying to fund our salaries. Perhaps Senator Holt doesn't know that OK2A has no paid employees or lobbyists. Apparently he also doesn't know that we are there every day and we do know quite a bit about what goes on at the Capitol.
He accused us last year of not basing our scorecard on what goes on at the Capitol. In fact, Senator Holt was graded down last year because he worked behind the scenes - quietly and outside of public view - to sustain Governor Fallin's veto of a gun bill - SB41. Senator Holt also was solely responsible for the unsecured buildings bill failing to come out of a conference committee in 2014 - again, working quietly and outside of public view.
This is his history. He does everything he can behind the scenes to keep from having to vote on gun bills only to vote yes when everyone is watching. Senator Holt has accused us trying to manipulate Oklahomans. Who is trying to manipulate people? Who is it that says one thing with his vote and another with his actions when no one is watching?
